The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is a picture gallery formed from the Spanish government’s acquisition of the most valuable pieces of the private collection, gathered over seven decades by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family. This collection is formed by numerous works by foreign painters with little or no presence in the rest of the Spanish museums. The art ranges from gothic work to pop art, to figurative paintings of the 80s.

The current headquarters of the museum is the Villahermosa Palace, and its artistic background began to be formed as a private collection of the first baron Thyssen-Bornemisza.
