Alcazaba of Malaga

The visit lasts approximately 1 hour (it can always be a little longer), but as it is located at the foot of the Gibraltar Castle, we recommend visiting both monuments at the same time.

The Alcazaba of Malaga is a fortress palace from the Islamic period, whose name in Arabic means citadel, construction or fortified enclosure of urban character whose function was to serve as a residence for a governor to defend a place.

Hence its name of fortified palace. It currently occupies an area of 15,000 square meters, which is not even half the size it owned in its time, which will marvel and surprise us.
