AVE Courses Content

There are 16 different courses between levels A1 and C1, broken down as follows:

A1,A2 -Beginner

In this level you will learn to say hello and goodbye, to exchange personal and/or professional information, to describe people, things, places as well as to talk about cities or countries. You will also learn to order in bars and restaurants.

You can ask questions and give directions to specific places, describe places and ask for information about transportation. You’ll learn to talk about daily habits, schedules, tastes, preferences and how to organize activities.

You will be able to communicate using the past, describe past experiences, objects, people; evaluate activities, express preferences and tell stories.

You will learn to talk about travel plans, the weather, different types of tourism. You will be able to give and ask for opinions and formulate hypotheses. You will be able to express your feelings, express interest and opposition and you will be able to ask and refuse permission.

B1 – Intermediate

You will learn how to make presentations and be able to improvise in them. Speak in the past and present, being able to tell past stories, anecdotes, as well as describe present situations. You will be able to express sensations, recommendations, describe products and gastronomic recipes.

You will learn to talk about healthy habits, feelings and physical states. You will describe gastronomic products and places like a home. You will be able to ask for information about specific products or make enquiries about administrative matters. Talk about future plans and also to suggest activities.

You can make an appointment, express your feelings and opinions. Get to know the work of Spanish-speaking artists. You will be able to expose and justify an opinion, expressing conditions, judgments and evaluations. You will learn about advertising and fashion in Spanish-speaking countries, as well as how to present yourself formally and get to know the business world in Spain and Latin America.

You will be able to participate in social events, give and receive gifts, compliments, propose a toast, be able to express opinions and even give some advice. You will get to know the administrative division of Spain and the DELE Spanish diplomas, developing intercultural competence.

B2 – Advanced

You will describe people’s physique and character in detail, talking about similarities and even making comparisons. You will be able to tell about a person’s life, highlighting some facts, feelings, anecdotes and events. You will also have a greater command of future times, being able to locate actions in the future chronologically.

You will be able to describe towns, cities, countries and landscapes in detail. Talk about the climate and its changes. You will be able to participate in a debate by developing arguments and justifications, as well as formulating hypotheses with different degrees of probability and reacting to them.

You will be able to talk about reforms in housing, suggesting, praising, granting and denying permits, justifying the decision. You will know how to ask, accept and refuse favors. You will ask for and give advice. You will be able to reflect on the learning of different languages, identifying generic features of the novel, poetry or theatre. You will be able to talk about the aspect, qualities and trajectory of a person.

You will learn to express conditions and consequences of the past, writing formal documents of different kinds. You will be able to describe the characteristics of foods, their nutritional or therapeutic properties. Criticism and behavior in business meals, giving instructions and advice on gastronomic issues. You will be able to interpret the rules of a contest or participate correctly in an internet forum. You will be able to establish similarities and differences in the IT world and describe the rules of a company.

C1 – Upper

You will learn to write a letter of introduction, prepare a radio interview, write about yourself or others. You will approach the Hispanic media. You will know how to describe the symptoms of an illness, give health advice or how to count and know how to react to an accident. You will get to know the Spanish health system and learn how to make hypotheses about the present and make predictions. You will give your opinion with more or less conviction, defending and replicating other opinions. You will also be able to make formal letters of complaint, as well as the different ways to make them.

You will express nostalgia, engage in cultural dialogues, perceiving cultural differences and being able to express yourself successfully abroad. You will be able to take notes during a lecture, writing and expressing argumentative texts orally. You will get to know the main migratory movements in Spain.  You will be able to develop work communication strategies, expressing regret, despair and discomfort. You will be able to give advice and distribute works, expressing the objectives of international organizations. You will learn to value and describe the past, talking about personal changes, desires and expressing obligation, permission and prohibition.

Describe and evaluate garments, locate places and give directions to locate them. You will be able to make comparisons about family consumption and formulate hypotheses about the past, express commitment and capture the consumer’s attention in advertising campaigns. You will learn how to tell anecdotes about a trip, negotiate conditions in a negotiation and give advice for a trip. You will get to know certain cultural expressions of the Hispanic world such as carnivals or El camino de Santiago (the Way of Saint James). You will learn to react to new information and express consequences on historical and political events.

You will learn how to express yourself on issues of ecology and climate change, making a critical review. You will be able to summarize texts by analyzing their intention and participate in a debate by questioning other opinions. You will learn various colloquial expressions and vocabulary related to the animal and geographical world. You will know how to choose between different options, expressing suspicion, doubt or security. You will learn some expressions related to humor, such as telling jokes and reacting to them. You can write an email to request information about a service. Review resources to submit a complaint letter and opinion text or learn about the role of humor.

Oriented to the description and knowledge of the four skills (Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing) which make up the DELE A2 exam. The course is complemented with videos and more than 118 activities based on actual tests with tips to pass the exam.
